Keweenaw Calling
Northern Coast:
Photos from Copper Harbor Michigan
When I helped move my brother into his new home up at Michigan Technical University, I was able to take these great photos of the region.
The Keweenaw is a very historically important location in Michigan, hailing many lumber and mining operations. Copper, one of Michigan’s prolific ores, was once found here in great abundance. But, it’s not only the rich mining history that is in this tiny peninsula on a peninsula that keeps me interested.
The landscapes carved by man and glacier alike provide a rocky and diverse area that is much different from its lower peninsula cousin. Not to mention all of the fantastic lighthouses and lake views you can see from all around the area as well as its diverse lakes and river systems.
